This soft, ethereal piece was inspired by the milky morning fog drifting across a silky blackfish sound, in northern B.C. last summer. The quiet of a still morning on the water only punctuated by ocelots and harlequin ducks, and the occasional blow of a humpback whale breaching nearby. No houses on the islands, no boats within eye or earshot...only the gentle woosh of a paddle slipping through the water and the scraping of the bow across tangled mats of bull kelp. I felt as though we’d slipped through some crack in time and fell back a few hundred years...or maybe a few thousand.
